What mother wouldn't love a new luxurious robe? This silky satin robe can be found at Nordstrom in five different gorgeous colors.
Don't think you'll have time to shop? Check out Spa Finder where you can select a gift certificate and ship it directly to her. She'll definitely love being pampered
If she's a jewelry lover, she'll love the pieces by Stella & Dot, especially this brand new Bamboleo Necklace.

GREEN ACCENTS FOR SPRING

Green is one of my favorite colors to use in interiors. There are so many variations from deep, dark greens to olive, pale pastel greens and of course bold bright greens.  Bright green colors are not for everyone, but they are a great to brighten up a dark room and add instant life. If you feel you need to add a punch of color to a room this spring, a bright happy green may be just what you need.

Cloth Napkins

Cloth Napkins are a great way to add some interest to your table decoration while reducing waste. Think of how many napkins and paper towels you currently use and the amount of waste they create! I like to look for sales and in clearance bins for color coordinating napkins. I stick to greens, browns, plum and golds that match my kitchen. I'll then use different napkins in both solids and patterns for a more informal meal. Napkins can be placed in several locations; in the center of the plate, to the left of the fork, under the plate, in the wine glass, or in a decorative container. Like the idea of folding the napkin? Here is a website with easy to follow instructions on folding napkins into some really great designs. www.napkinfoldingguide.com
I find great napkin sales at Pier 1 Imports and Bed Bath and Beyond.

Napkin Rings also add interest to a table. Look for some beaded rings or a metal ring in an interesting shape. Perhaps you're looking for something simple, then try using a bright colored or patterned napkin. Also, look for seasonal decor that can also be used as a napkin ring such as Christmas ornaments.
I suggest looking at World Market and Crate & Barrel for napkin rings. Also, be sure to browse through etsy.com for handmade napkin rings.

DECORATING WITH LANTERNS

You can find lanterns of all shapes and sizes these days. They're a great way to decorate both inside and out.

Add some of the following decor in or around your lantern for decoration:

Rocks
Food
Flowers
Seashells

Looking to add some color to your lanterns? Try some colorful lanterns or colorful candles.

There are also many different styles whether you prefer a vintage look or a more exotic look.

Don't want to worry about candles? Several stores have battery operated candles, some even with timers that look pretty real. I especially like the ones from Pier 1. Be careful placing them outside this summer though, they'll still melt outside in the heat.

Now get creative and have fun with lanterns. They're the type of decorative accessory that you can easily change with the seasons and with different styles.

Nautical themes are a great way to make you feel like you're constantly on vacation. Do you love water?  Try some of these ideas to create a room with a nautical theme.

Parbuckles has fantastic pieces to really give your room a nautical feel.

Isn't this porthole mirror great? It's only $199.

This Sailor's Chest is not only great for storage but would make a great coffee table too.

How about some great pillows? They have four designs starting at $39.

Decorating with food

I love making a centerpiece using food. It's a little unusual and its also pretty cheap. Plus, they'll last longer than flowers and provide tons of color.

Not only does a bowl of fresh fruit look nice, you also have a healthy snack instantly available. I especially like having fruit out when having overnight guests.

Go with a theme like this kitchen. If green isn't your color, try something else or even a combo. If you have a bright kitchen, opt for some tropical fruits like oranges, lemons and limes. Like red? Then red delicious apples would be perfect.
One of my favorite things about summer is visiting a local farmers market. Look how easy this table decoration is! Pick up veggies and even display them in the boxes. Get a variety of veggies for color.

So look around your room and get some inspiration then head off to the supermarket!

Rugs

I'm currently looking for rugs for the room we just completed in my brother-in-laws house. He loves the wood but a few rugs in the large room would both bring the noise level down and also bring another soft element to the space.

I'd thought I'd share some of the rug ideas we've discussed with you.

Runner - If you use one solid rug you should plan for at least 24" in each side of the bed. We're trying to keep costs down so are considering two runners on each side of the bed instead of one rug for underneath.

Colors - Playing with colors can be fun. Since his room is so large, we're considering using two large solid colored rugs; one light grey in his sleeping area and one deep charcoal near his reading/tv area, these will also bring in the sleek, modern colors he's after. Remember, never go with a black rug....you'll see every little piece of lint!
While tangerine isn't exactly the color we're going for, I found this great hair hide rug from Horchow.

Textures - Most guys think rugs are full of flower designs but there are many great textured rugs out there. Try a frize rug instead of a rug with a normal cut pile or a sisal rug for a more natural look.
Restoration Hardware is currently having a great sale on these Sisal Rugs.
