Cloth Napkins

Cloth Napkins are a great way to add some interest to your table decoration while reducing waste. Think of how many napkins and paper towels you currently use and the amount of waste they create! I like to look for sales and in clearance bins for color coordinating napkins. I stick to greens, browns, plum and golds that match my kitchen. I'll then use different napkins in both solids and patterns for a more informal meal. Napkins can be placed in several locations; in the center of the plate, to the left of the fork, under the plate, in the wine glass, or in a decorative container. Like the idea of folding the napkin? Here is a website with easy to follow instructions on folding napkins into some really great designs. www.napkinfoldingguide.com
I find great napkin sales at Pier 1 Imports and Bed Bath and Beyond.

Napkin Rings also add interest to a table. Look for some beaded rings or a metal ring in an interesting shape. Perhaps you're looking for something simple, then try using a bright colored or patterned napkin. Also, look for seasonal decor that can also be used as a napkin ring such as Christmas ornaments.
I suggest looking at World Market and Crate & Barrel for napkin rings. Also, be sure to browse through etsy.com for handmade napkin rings.
