Decorative Pillows

If I had to pick one item as my favorite decorative piece it would be a pillow. I love decorating with pillows because there are so many gorgeous and fun styles, shapes and sizes and they work nearly everywhere. They're great to soften a chair or sofa, great to fill empty space and they're also an easy way to add a punch of color or interest.

Here are some amazing decorative pillows

I love H&M stores, they have fun clothing and accessories. I've even notice my niece in some adorable H&M children's clothing lately. Did you know they have a home store too? Unfortunately they're only in the U.K. But....hopefully they'll make their way here!

Here are some of the items they have for the holidays.

Glass Decor

If you want to add some glitz to your favorite room, try some colorful glass.

It's a great way to add some vibrant color. You can easily find nice pieces in high end stores as well as a local antique stores. Stick with one color for a bold impact. I especially like blue glass vases and bottles. Purple also looks nice. Prefer warm tones? Try amber, oranges and reds. Stick to one piece for a statement or collect bottles or vases of similar styles and display them together.

Here are some great pieces that I found online

These colorful hanging vases are so cute. Find them through Amazon.com.

This stunning Royal Doulton teal and blue vase can be found easily at Bed Bath & Beyond.

Fall Table Decor

You may be preparing your Thanksgiving celebration menu, but have you thought about your table decor?

Tablecloth
Start off with a neutral tablecloth. A simple color will make the table decor and colors from your food stand out.

Centerpiece
Get creative; use old wine bottles, wooden bowls or unique metal vases for your table decor. Use decor just outside of your door. Incorporate leaves, berries and twigs from your yard in your centerpiece.

Candles
Opt for a simple white taper or warm toned candle to create a cozy ambiance. Be sure to use unscented candles as you don't want this to interfere with the scents of your food.

More centerpiece ideas: check out this article I found on Better Homes & Gardens website by clicking here.

Pier 1 To Go

I always enjoy my ventures into Pier 1 Imports. While they're pretty good at keeping a nice supply of their items, it does occasionally happen that they're one or two short of the drinking glasses I want, or salad plates I need.

Well, they have come up with a great solution: Pier 1 To-Go!

You simply log onto Pier 1 To-Go, reserve the item and quantity that you want, then stop in your local store, pay for and pick your items. It's that easy!

You'll also get an e-mail confirming your reserved order to ensure it's correct.

Here are some of my new favorite things available at Pier 1 Imports.
