Friday Favorites

Well, it's Friday again. This week sure went fast! For this week's edition of Friday Favorites, I decided to share some of my favorite decor from CB2. Most people know of Crate and Barrel, but CB2 is their store of modern, funky, sometimes whimsical, and a little more out there, furniture and accessories. 

Here are my favorite pieces!

The Rig Acacia Adjustable Barstool is a great design, but I'm also a big fan of Acacia wood.

This Maze Pillow measures 23" x 11". It consists of a white pillow with black embroidery. It's a cute pillow to go with about anything, at a great price. 

I typically default to clear glassware. It's easy to then mix and match your table decor. However, I love this Brite drinkware. It reminds you of a Lite Brite right???

The Study Wingback Chair is a great look. The white piping really makes the bold blue color pop. The stainless steel base legs really finish off this great look.

Room and Board

I'm always surprised at the amount of people that have not heard of Room and Board. If you are one of them...I encourage you to keep reading! You'll be glad you did!

There are a couple companies that I credit with helping me get through design school and this is one of them! This Minnesota based furniture and home decor company describe their style as Classic Contemporary.

Grey

I love using grey tones in interiors. It's a great neutral tone that steps out of the black or white box. Of course, it is not ideal for a sunroom or perhaps a child's room, however, I love grey tones in kitchens, dining room, bathrooms and more. 

 

Grey is not just one color. This hue can lean many different directions from a rosy taupe to the popular blue grey tones you see today, to a soft putty color and then to a deep charcoal and everything in between.

This Zig Zag Settee is from Target. Can you believe it? Just imagine adding some fun, colorful pillows and maybe a throw for some added color. 

I am truly in love with this Beverly Sofa from Williams-Sonoma. The tufting, rolled arms and turned legs are just stunning. This would be a great addition to soften a room or add a feminine touch.

This dark grey Solsta Sofa Bed from Ikea is only $149! Yes, its amazing to think you can by a piece of furniture at that price.

This grey chaise is sure to be one of your favorite pieces. It has the decorative tufting yet can fit in a more modern room due to its black legs. I found this from A. M. B. Furniture and Design.

This printed bench would work great as an ottoman but also looks fabulous at the end of a bed. It's available through West Elm for only $239.00

Modani

On a recent trip to New York I stopped in a great store called Modani. It's chock full of amazing, modern furniture.

Modern Decor For Children

Designing rooms for children is a lot of fun. Of course using pink ruffles for girls and blue paint for boys is what you first think of when designing these rooms. Have you ever thought of going modern though? Several companies are realizing that some people prefer a modern, clean lined look. If you're a fan of a modern, contemporary look, here are some great websites that you'll have to check out.

I love the site My Urban Child which is full of furniture, lamps, high chairs, rugs, playsets and even more! Plus they offer free shipping on orders over $90.

Design Public is another good site with tons of options in modern furniture and decor.

IKEA Furniture Delivery

IKEA has some great inexpensive pieces of furniture. It's perfect if you're on a budget, looking for temporary pieces or even want to try a new look or style before sinking too much money into the project. 

Unfortunately there is not an IKEA in St. Louis and the closest store is in Chicago. If you want anything delivered  to you, it costs an arm and a leg! Midwest Modern is a company that specializes in bringing the modern, unique design of IKEA to St. Louis! Basically you give them your shopping list, they go pick it up and bring it back to their warehouse in Webster Groves and then you simply go pick it up from there.  For an additional charge, they can also deliver to your home.  Brilliant, isn't it?
