A Little Pink Anyone?

I have always liked pink clothes, shoes and accessories, but decorating with pink is something new that I've been doing. I once was a design assistant for someone who decorated everything in pink and lime green. I was very burned out on pink and couldn't work with it for years! I'm happy to say though, that I've moved past and am enjoying my recent designing with this happy hue.

It's a great way to add a pop of color especially to turquoise, aqua and blue tones. There is not a specific rule of what value of the hues you should mix, I like experimenting with all different tones.

Maybe for a baby's room I'd do pale aqua and pale pink.

In the image below you'll see a more saturated aqua mixed with a bright pink tone.

This shows a whole different look with pale blue and a bright magenta.

So have fun experimenting with different tones and don't be afraid of a little pop of pink!

Fun Holiday Decor

Are you looking to mix it up this year? Tired of the same old decorations and colors that you've used in the past? Here are some great ideas to create a fun, unique look for the holidays.

Lime Green
Add some lime green to your decor. It's really simple and doesn't take much since its such a bright color. Look at the room below for inspiration. Not ready for a room of lime green? Start off with a small decoration on your door like this.

Purple
I love adding purple to my Christmas tree. It looks great wth the green and seems to bring the tree to life. There are really gorgeous purple ornaments and decorations easily available.

Mixture of Pink, Purple and more
Try setting your table with a bowl full of gorgeous ornaments like this. The more shiny and glitzy, the better. Add some big colorful bows to a room and don't forget to use these fun colors on your dining table.

Want to really wow them???? Opt to hang your tree upside down. Yes, I've seen it done several times. Just make sure your family doesn't have their heart set on a real tree.
