Lighting

Lighting is critical in a room. It can really make or break your color scheme. Plus, depending on the materials that you use, you can really create a focal point in the room or subtly add a soft glow.

My friend Deanna is a talented designer. Not only can she dream up really unique, cool pieces of furniture and decor....but she can actually create it all herself too!

This is a light that she designed and made for a bedroom. She really wanted to create an industrial looking piece and used pipes for the different arms.

How cool is this!?!?

Well, unfortunately most of us are not able to make our own lighting....I do love the lighting at Restoration Hardware and Arhaus. Also look for this style at B4itwascool.com and threepotatofour.com.

Lighting

Selecting lighting for your home is a lot of fun.
With so many great designs you're sure to find something to match your style too.

Before selecting lighting, sit down and answer the following questions

What type of lighting are you looking for?

If task lighting, what kind of workspace do you have?

If decorative, are there any special elements you'd like?

Would you like to match your decor?

Maybe you'd like something bold to contrast?

What type of feel or ambiance would you like to create in the room?

Once you've thought of these answers, you're ready to search for the perfect lighting. Head to your favorite lighting store or website with these thoughts in mind along with dimensions of the space.
