Laundry Rooms with Style

Gone are the basic laundry rooms which solely housed the washer and dryer.  Welcome to today’s new upgraded laundry room with amazing storage, function and style.

I recently attended an open house for a local cabinetry, countertop and tile showroom and loved this pale blue display!

A laundry room does so much more these days, from laundry to storage and basically keeping the family organized and running smoothly.  Make this space functional with tons of storage, countertop space for folding, a tilt out laundry hamper or two, and even a wall hung ironing board to keep things neat and organized.  Provide every family member with a bin for clean, folded clothes. No more running around, delivering everyone's clothes.

Closet Factory, specifically Closet Factory Cleveland has designed and created some amazing laundry rooms.  Check these out!

Finally, have some fun with added color and decorative accents.  This is a room where you can add a pop of color, or simply color coordinate to your washer/dryer set!

6 Tips for Home Organization

Here are a few tips to make sure your transition back to school goes smoothly.  Organization is key to successful mornings and easy evenings!

1. Have a mudroom or designated area for your purse, briefcase, car keys and the kiddo’s backpacks.  Keeping all these items together will make heading out the door faster.  Check out Closet Factory for some awesome mudroom designs.

2. Clear plastic containers work great for food as well as non-food items.  Everything is easy to see, plus you can see how much you have remaining before you run out.

3.Keep your countertop clean.  By this I mean, keep the decorative items to a minimum. This reduces clutter and discourages others from adding things on the counter. Want to add décor?  Opt for decoration above your cabinets.

4.Use a decorative basket or tray on your coffee table. This can hold remotes, coasters, toys, movies etc. Have a lot in your family room?  Storage ottomans work great! Target has some cute styles and they double as extra seating.

5.Set a timer and have everyone in the household spend 10 minutes picking up around the house.

6.Color code and label as much as possible.  I can’t stress this enough!  Hit up an office supply store such as Office Max for a label maker!  Use colorful bins or lids and colorful labels.

Hopefully these few awesome tips work well for you!

Dressing Rooms

Dressing rooms are all the rage right now.  Bedrooms are changing; no longer do you have a coordinating bedroom furniture collection.  The trend has changed to eliminating most of the storage in the bedroom and transferring these stored pieces to a dressing room. This frees up space in the bedroom for that reading nook you’ve always wanted or an extra lounging space.

Some clients expand the size of their current walk-in closet for this, or they take over a grown child’s bedroom to turn into this dressing room.

Dressing rooms can be simple or spectacular depending on your style and needs.  I’ve designed dressing rooms simply to store clothing and create an organized space. Other dressing rooms are more luxurious with silk draperies, chandeliers and cozy furniture.

Life just seems to flow better when everything has a home.

Below are some quick snapshots of a recently created dressing room. The amazing closet system was produced and installed by the experts at Closet Factory Cleveland. The carpeting is an elegant white color, soft blue walls, white closet system and stunning chandelier. The finishing touches are the mirror and cushion for the window seat.

Let me guess....now you want one too! Check out  more ideas at www.closetfactory.com!
